Canada & New England

Cunard Line® on Queen Mary 2®

October 4 - 11, 2019
8 Days / 7 Nights

(New York to Quebec)

Day 1

New York

See the bright lights of the Big Apple, international mecca and melting pot, with expensive brownstones, colourful neighbourhoods like Greenwich Village and the Upper West Side and the legendary Central Park. Explore some of the world's great museums. Some come just for the shopping: there’s Bloomingdale’s on Lex, Tiffany’s on Fifth, Barneys and the unique boutiques along Madison.

Day 2

At Sea

Queen Mary 2 is wonderfully grand. Illuminations is a luxury 3D cinema, a planetarium and a classical music venue. If you fancy a little shopping, fine boutiques centred around the ship’s magnificent Grand Lobby, provide a range of products from tempting souvenirs and gifts to exquisite jewellery and designer clothing.

Day 3

Bar Harbor, Maine

There’s a sense of natural paradise around Bar Harbor. Funny coincidence then, that it was once named Eden – in honour of an early settler – Sir Richard Eden. From a secluded haven for artists, to elitist holiday retreat, Maine’s oldest summer resort also enchants visitors with its immense natural beauty in the fall. In Acadia National Park, take to Cadillac Mountain – the East Coast’s highest with outstanding views of the Porcupine Islands and Frenchman Bay.

Day 4

At Sea

There’s so much to do on board. From Afternoon Tea to the largest library at sea. Or spend your time relaxing in the large spa, complete with treatment rooms, saunas and pool.

Day 5

Corner Brook, Canada

Corner Brook is located on the west coast of Newfoundland, an island which separates the mouth of the St Lawrence River from the Atlantic Ocean, creating the Gulf of St Lawrence. It’s set against a backdrop of the Long Range Mountains, which form the northernmost section of the Appalachian Mountains.

Day 6

Sept - Iles, Canada

Almost 400 miles northeast of Quebec City, Sept-Iles stands in the Côte-Nord region of eastern Quebec. It’s at the northernmost reaches of the region’s paved road system and, indeed, of our cruises to New England and Canada. It looks out onto the point where the St Lawrence River widens into the mighty Gulf of St Lawrence. While this corner of Canada is better known for endless landscapes of pines forests, lakes and grizzled mountains, you may also appreciate the long stretches of sandy beach that run along the shore here, just moments outside of the centre of town.

Day 7

Quebec, Canada

When you cruise to Quebec City you will dock at the inland port, the oldest in Canada, just minutes from the city centre. As you travel towards the city, the contrast between the port area and the Old Town is astonishing. The history and romance seeps from the very fabric of the buildings and cobbled streets. But this is more than mere nostalgia. The only fortified city in North America, Old Quebec is a one-off and you will see nothing else like it in Canada.
